Entries are now open for this competition where I will be CD.

Tyldesley is a new site for us but a well established club site. It's close to Leigh in Lancashire just off the A580 - GPS 53.4816791, -2.4774415
The site is flat and North facing with minimal obstructions in front and either side.

All 2024 classes are on offer.

Clubman (National League)

Intermediate (National League)
Steve Smithey

Masters A-25 (National League)

FAI P-25 only (National League)
Brian Hoare
Ken Moss
Eugene Anker
Mike Pole
Adrian Harrison
Dave Matthias
Stephen Simm

FAI P-25 & F-25 (BMFA Centralised League)
Kevin Caton
Jim Fallowfield
Keith Jackson
Garry Peacock
Javad Aghababazadeh
Dan Workman
Matt Hoyland

This is an excellent site made available to us at the peak time of the season, so let's have a good number of entries and showcase F3A flying in this part of the country.

Eugene Anker

Kevin thank you for the endorsement in my flying ability but sadly its not that good 😂😂 so I will only be flying P only or should I say trying to fly the P schedule

Kevin Caton

There is still plenty of room for more entries. The club has already purchased a set of poles for marking the box, so this will be a great competition venue and one to become part of the circuit in future.

Kevin Caton

Thanks for the great response to this competition - the host Club Tyldesley MFC will be delighted to see a full entry.

I'll start a waiting list now if anyone else would like to attend, in case of any withdrawals.

Pete Madden

Apologies, due to unforeseen circumstances I'm going to have to withdraw from the competition.
Thanks
Pete & Yazz

Kevin Caton

Sorry to hear that Pete. I've updated the entry list so there is one space available if anyone wants to take it.

For anyone who wishes to fly at the Tyldesley site on Saturday, the field will be open for practice in the afternoon. This is also a club flying session so any of our pilots who want to fly should coordinate their flights with the members - no "back to back" flights please.
Brian Hoare is a club member and will be on site finishing the set up of the poles and box lines.

Although we have had a small number of withdrawals, the entry is still almost full and we will need to start flying promptly at 09:00, so please arrive in time for a briefing at 08:30.

We will follow the established practice of contestant judging and I will contact some of you directly later today to ask you to judge.

If anyone has any questions please get in touch.

Kevin Caton

We have no Notaumatic gurus attending this competition so we will revert to scoresheets and scribes. Please be prepared to help the judges during periods when your group isn't flying.

The flight order will be determined by random draw, with the usual 1/3 rotation between the rounds for the P and the P&F groups. The order of the flying groups will be P only, Intermediate, P&F in each round.

I plan to have three full rounds over the day.

I look forward to seeing you all at this excellent new venue.

For those proposing to attend today, please PM me before you arrive as I am not there all day but 25min from site.

Here are the results from yesterday.

Thanks to all the competitors for helping to keep things running smoothly despite the weather and having to use scribes and manual scoring - it was a great team effort.

Edit 4th August 2024 - updated results table added with very minor corrections to score errors for two P25 pilots (0.1 points each, which does not alter the placings) and the P25 results table is now sorted by final placing.
