Thank you to Chris and Graham and to Stuart and Pete and pilot judges. Thank you also to the Skelbrooke club and to Dan and Gary for calling for me. What a contrast to the wind and rain we have endured for so long....I had better not say it actually got a bit too hot 🤣

Very enjoyable comp.  Thanks to:

All involved in arranging the comp - we know they do not just happen by magic
The host club for allowing us to use the site for the day
Pete S and Stuart M for judging
Chris for CDing and Graham for dealing with the Notaumatics
Beryl for the bacon roll
Jim for calling
Dan for judging with me

Tough conditions with a variable speed cross wind blowing out plus some thermal activity. In addition, for the final round the sun in the box on the left hand side; and by the time we did the F25 it was half way between the left hand box marker and centre.  Challenging.

Fortunately despite a delayed start due to low cloud and fog we completed all rounds and the rain held off until we were packing up.

Hi Phil. More comments later - but feel I  must comment on my Notaumatic in use yesterday.
The unit I used (J1 on the tabulated results - but no number on the actual unit) is a bit suspicious - to say the least. It locked up on 2 occasions on different flights. Has been known to happen - ok.

But more worryingly - it recorded 2 N.O's on Ken Moss' flight - which I did not input. It's virtually impossible to input a N.O. incorrectly, given the location of the N.O button on the L/H side of unit & the audible feedback  - plus I simply know I didn't do it. Full stop.

But recording 2 N.O's on the same flight in good conditions - just impossible to achieve accidentally.

So - I'm beginning to wonder what other scores were incorrectly recorded by that particular unit.

Certainly none of our crews fault of course - but worrying nevertheless.
