This will be Tyldesley's second year in hosting a UKF3A National League competition. A great flying site situated west of Manchester city centre, near to the village of Astley.

Approaching from the East. Access to the A580 East Lancashire Road, Manchester to St Helens via the M60 ring road is signposted.  After crossing the junction for Higher Green, and passing the next left turn for their Sunday market, the site entrance is directly after the next layby, you will notice directly opposite the entrance a break in the central reservation. Take care when turning right into the entrance as you will cross a cycle lane.

Approaching from the West. again on the A580, you will cross a roundabout with the Greyhound pub to your left. Straight over the round and continue to the next set of lights (U turns are prohibited) turn right into Higher Green Lane, find a suitable place to turn around and return to the A580 and turn left. again when passing the next left turn for their Sunday market, the site entrance is directly after the next layby, you will notice directly opposite the entrance a break in the central reservation. Take care when turning left into the entrance as you will cross a cycle lane.

Once on the farmers lane beware of the speed bumps (model breakers) pass the first farm on the right and the house on the left. 50 yds on, you will see the entrance to the field on the left, follow the track to the site cabin, parking is plentiful but please park sensibly.

Toilet facilities, hot water will be available on the day.

Evening all

Where just over a month away and looking at the current entry level, I'm anticipating a reasonably relaxed day for us all weather permitting.

I'm posting now asking if there are willing parties within the classes, who are willing to judge, any volunteers are gratefully accepted.

See some of you at Hurley otherwise rock on Tyldesley.

Just a note from me on behalf of the club. All entrants are most welcome to attend and fly on the Saturday before the event. (The poles will be up). Other club members will be flying however so please do not expect practice solos's though we will endeavour to enable that if we can.

Hi Brian

At the moment the weather forecast for the Tyldesley comp is looking pretty good.

In view of this and the current entry of eleven, any chance we could go for four rounds?

The usual max entry is 16 with 3 rounds = 48 flights.

With 11 entries x 4 flights = 44 flights.

For P+F maybe two rounds of each and best three to count.

For P and intermediate either 4 rounds and three best to count; or three rounds with best two to count and then myself, Jim, Garry and Keith give some coaching to each pilot instead of another comp flight.  This could be based on problems in the first three flights.

Just a thought and would need buy in from other competitors.

Brandon

Good evening.

Just wanted to confirm the follow so there is no confusion on the day. As per the rule book"  Scores for all UKF3A National League one-day Competitions, apart from the P & F schedule, will not be normalised and the judges' scores as awarded shall determine the results of the competition".  Best three for two, one from two etc.

Judging Rota- have two volunteers to judge P27 and Intermediate, Brandon and Jim, Many thanks gents. Do we have any volunteers to judge P&F please? Those volunteering please remember to bring headphones.

Brewing facilities will be available on the day. Pilots briefing will be at 8.45am, I will forward flight orders on Saturday, watch this post.

Brandon's previous post based on the current number of entries, posts the question do pilots want an extra round or utilise the free flight period after the competition is over, to get some valuable mentoring? Please let me know.

For any pilots travelling on the Saturday wanting to utilise the flying site again please let me know.

Cheers

Brian
