The Committee is pleased to announce that the UK F3A World Cup competition has been arranged for 13th & 14th June 2026 at the excellent Phoenix MFC site close to St Albans.
The competition is on the FAI calendar and we hope to attract some top international competitors as the only conflicting event that weekend is in Austria.
The competition format will depend on the number of entries. We plan to run the same system as previous years with three P schedule flights then the top 50% will fly a final round of the F schedule and the remaining pilots will fly a final round of the P schedule. For the latter group the final round will not count towards the official World Cup result as this format is not one of the permitted round combinations, but the final round will be used to calculate a National League position.
If there are 20 entries or fewer, we also plan to fly one round of an unknown schedule. This will also be separate from the World Cup result. The intention is to give pilots and judges the opportunity to fly an unknown schedule in a competitive environment and create an exciting finale to the event for spectators.
The bulletin is attached and contains a link to the entry form. As with all our other competitions, entries will open on Sunday 22nd February.
The entry form can also be found here: https://www.cognitoforms.com/UKF3A1/UKF3AWorldCupUKEntry13th14thJune2026

I'm becoming concerned by the lack of entries to this competition. If you add my entry we have ten and to keep within a realistic budget we need twenty. If you are thinking of entering please do so or at least let me know that you will be entering soon.
Good morning,
Following last night's World Cup committee meeting, we'd like to share an update on the event format.
We have introduced an additional class, A-27. This will include 4–5 flights, and the entry fee for the two-day event will be £44.
We also want to reassure all pilots that our aim is for everyone to receive 4–5 flights across the two days, depending on entry numbers.
-
Event Format for the World Cup:
-
- All pilots will initially fly P-27.
- After these rounds, the top 50% of pilots will progress to the final and compete for the World Cup title, flying F-27.
- The remaining 50% will continue flying P-27.
- There will be two results:
- An overall World Cup winner (F-27 finalists)
- A winner from the remaining group flying P-27
-
Please get your entries in, we'd love to see at least 20 pilots taking part, we are really hoping it will be a great event.
If you have any questions, please contact me or Kevin Caton.
-
Thank you.
On behalf of the committee I've created a new form where meals can be booked for the World Cup UK 2026.
I'll be adding the link to the Meals form on the main World Cup entry form and also on the Main Site later today.
Please book your World Cup meals here:

Hi Kevin,
I have submitted my entry now.
Many thanks
Stephen
Thanks Stephen - I've updated the entry list.
For those pilots who may be considering entering A-27, please do so as soon as practicable please as this will help me to plan the flying programme for the competition.
You may have selected your meal options on the World Cup entry form; however, this has now been replaced by a new form that also allows you to make payment at the same time.
Please use the link below to order your meals for the UK World Cup, even if you have already submitted your preferences on the original entry form.
The meal section on the entry form has been removed and replaced with a link to this dedicated meal-ordering form:

You can also access the form via a button on the homepage of the main website.
I've just done mine for lunch on both days.

Can someone summarise the raffle and prizes and what the entry conditions are both for pilots, attendees at the World Cup and if it's possible for entries to anyone not able to attend, it would be great to get this onto the UKF3A Facebook page if possible
Dear UK F3A members,
This is just a little update from your director of sponsorship........ I truly believe that if we all pull together we can achieve more, for some that could be more members or fuller comps or a buzzing grass roots scene. For me it's about making friends, visiting fabulous flying sites and entering amazing comps. Those of you that know me well and support me in my dreams with guidance and matched enthusiasm know how much the UK WC means, it's a stepping stone on a long path to a dream. I'm not the only one, there are many who want to stand on the podium at a world class comp.
There are a small bunch of people working hard behind the scenes to make this two day event absolutely fabulous, we have use of the UK's finest facilities, we have bbq area, proper toilets, a kitchen 240 volts and 12volt charging everywhere you look and a runway pattern that covers all wind directions.
This is not by any stretch just a competition for the most talented among us, this is a two day F3A flying bonanza with hot breakfasts and lunches available each day, we have secured sausages, bacon and burgers from one of the best butchers around so please come and support us, have a great day or weekend if you want to camp.
It's also worth noting that pilots who enter will be given a ticket for the raffle. Extra tickets will be available of course on the day. The prizes include a kit from Bondaero, so generous of them to support us this way, a VLV Mk4 contra drive (I want it) REVOC vouchers, Perma Gritt tools and Servos from MacGregor !!!! Also coming is a fantastic new incidence and angle measuring system from Australia.
So in summary,
It's going to be an awesome F3A weekend with great friends of old and hopefully some new ones. A competition over two days that anyone can enter from A 27 upwards and a chance to win some serious prizes. For me it sounds like a perfect weekend, so come along. Support the association and hang out with your mates, eat the best sausages in the world and go home with a new kit, a contra and some servos to go in it.
BTW,
PowerBox just confirmed they are sponsoring us too so you can win one of three switches to go in your new airframe as well.
Regards and look forward to seeing you all soon,
Matt
P.S
I can't fly the F either so get your entry in and join me in the wish I could do that category !
In other news,
Last time I checked it doesn't get dark till late, the Phoenix club and CD have approved flying after the comp on Saturday and Sunday. If you want to come and enjoy the hospitality and not compete that's great but don't forget to bring a model to fly in the evenings.
Good work Mr. Director! You have pulled together some super sponsors.
Looking forward to seeing everyone at the event, put me down for a raffle ticket ( I never win, so no danger of me nabbing a prize😂)
See you soon

Mike
Mike, thanks for the prompt.
Meals can be booked for anyone, pilots, family, guests, spectators but final numbers are required very soon.
Hi, not sure if I've missed some information but what time can we access the site tomorrow and what is the procedure?
Thanks
Keith
Would any Association member who is planning on visiting the World Cup competition on either day this coming weekend and still have in their possession any Trophies, please could you bring them along and let me have them.
Many thanks

Keith,
I'm pretty sure the site is open all of Friday.
Call Garry, Eugene or Matthew for access when you arrive.
Just got the email with numbers now thanks Jim
On Kevin's behalf here are the Flight Orders for the Advanced A-27 for both days and Saturday only flight orders for P-27.
We are unable to produce Sundays flight order until the top 7 finalist pilots are known at the end of Saturday.
Is it P-27 or A-27 up first?
It's P-27 first Simon, so you can relax in the morning (for a while).
Hi Kevin
Many thanks to you and the organising Committee for delivering the weekends World Cup event. While it was a great shame there were no mainland European pilots there, those that flew got a good work out in the wind on Saturday with some relief on Sunday.
This was my first World Cup that I've flown in and it certainly whetted my appetitite to try and attend some of the World Cups in Europe. Congratulations to the Winners and I'm just pleased that I managed to avoid coming last with my best flight ever in competition. Made up for the rubbish I flew on the first flight of today and on 2 flights yesterday!
On Kevin and Graham's behalf here are all the scores from the world cup.
Advanced A-27 first, World Cup P only, Prelims and Finals to follow.
Phil
World Cup Preliminary and final two rounds of P only Competition and result.
World Cup Final.
Hi Phi
Are you able to post the individual scores for the 2 F rounds
Thanks
Al.
Great event! Big thanks to everyone who helped pull this together👍
They have been, in the World Cup Final pdf
Apologies Phil. I failed to scroll down 🤦
Many thanks to everyone involved in organising this great competition. I had a fantastic weekend!
The Phoenix Club made us feel very welcome and created a superb atmosphere throughout the weekend.
This was excellent preparation for the upcoming European Championships in France; indeed, we even had two French judges.
I will definitely be attending again next year and highly recommend that others come along and support this outstanding event.
Malcolm
